Who could have predicted a year ago that such a crazy 2020 was awaiting us? This year has, without question, been challenging. Everyone has been tasked with rethinking how to navigate nearly every aspect of life.
2020 has also presented opportunities that will continue to inform how we choose to live our lives and serve the community. Ann Plans is proud of how quickly clients and vendor partners have adapted to planning creatively and strategically in the virtual space. And, we are grateful for how sponsors and donors have rallied to support nonprofits in bigger ways than we ever could have imagined when we first started planning virtual events in March.
Introducing Our New Resource Guide
We are excited to share our newly updated Resource Guide for Virtual Fundraising Events. This resource reflects what we have learned and practiced over the last nine months in partnership with clients and vendor partners.

The resource guide is filled with tips and best practices for virtual fundraising events! These are three of our favorites:
- Embrace your event as a several-day online giving campaign. This is one of Ten Virtual Event Fundraising Best Practices shared on page 3.
- Do you know what (or who!) your most valuable marketing tool is? It’s your team of virtual table hosts or event ambassadors! Engage these supporters to rally their networks to register and participate. Check out nine tips for Maximizing Your Marketing Efforts.
- Be comfortable going live! For most clients, there are strategic advantages to doing some elements of the program live. This is one of 11 points covered in the Creating an Engaging and Inspiring Program section.
